At all levels from international to local business the engagement model is changing fundamentally. To succeed, companies are required to change the way they do things.

The current fiscal climate is creating a business landscape the like of which we have not seen before. In times of recession two conditions generally prevail within the market.

Either a company feels it needs to batten down the hatches and hope things pass before affecting them too much. But they would be wrong because even the smallest of changes whether in process, products or services can help the bottom line and often requires little or no investment at all, just ideas. In my experience something as simple as asking employees for ideas produces quite a few changes. They often have many and some prove to be very worthwhile. I've found that just because they work for you doesn't exclude them from having some of the answers to your challenges.

Others companies look for opportunities to change the way they do things, to be more flexible in approaching problems and making the most of the situation. These generally not only survive but grow stronger in their market space.
